Recommendations for swimming in public pools

  •  In the pool you swim the same as you drive , going to the right and returning to the left. Even if there are only two of you on the street, swimming each one in a lane is not a good idea. As another swimmer joins your lane and you don't know about it, the smack is guaranteed with lifeguard course

  • Analyze the lanes before you go swimming : Normally in public pools there is a fast lane. Look to see the level of those who are swimming in it and be realistic: if there is a lot of difference between you and those who are swimming, swallow your pride and look for another lane. You will train better and those who swim in the street will thank you.
  • When you stop to rest stick to the rope lane on your right side . And if that hole is occupied, stick to the lane rope on the left side. Don't stand in the middle because you risk getting kicked in a flip. If both are occupied, you stay behind the one on the left side. It is very cool to take the bottle with isotonic or leave the heart rate monitor on the wall and every 2×3 stop to drink or to look at it by putting yourself in the middle of the street without allowing other swimmers to make the turns comfortably. This has happened to me on more than one occasion.
  • Do not come out when another swimmer is turning or about to turn. It is very annoying for the one who comes swimming. Wait for it to turn and exit.
  • Swim butterfly better in the summer pool in front of some "chuchis".
  • Swim at your own pace , don't worry about the other swimmers. You don't have to train worse or be standing up for other swimmers to pass with lifeguard course

  • If there are a lot of swimmers and the fairway is narrow , it is better not to swim breaststroke . He has two more styles and the other swimmers will appreciate it. But if the fairway is wide, nothing prevents you from swimming it.
  • Watch out for the paddles: try to swim as close to your right as possible from the lane rope. A blow to another swimmer's hand hurts a lot and leaves a mark
  • Do not touch the feet of the swimmer in front , it is not a triathlon.
  • If you want to overtake a swimmer near the wall, it's best to turn around before you both reach the wall. Even if you do fewer meters it is better for both of you. The thing of overtaking while the turn is made, leave it for training with teammates and brand series.
  • Don't get upset with the guy from the next street, I assure you it shows and you'll look like an asshole.
  • The flags that are when you approach each of the walls of the pool is to warn you that you are approaching them. What is done is that the number of strokes you have to take before the wall is counted (3 or 4 or 6) and thus avoid hitting them or having to turn all the time.
